"We knocked off some of the rust from the break and now we have Monday to refine our skills, adjust, and continue improving. This meet was a great opportunity to train, with the added bonus of competing against other schools. We're off to a strong start for 2025!"

Maddy Shekhawat kicked things off for the Eagles by breaking his own school record in the 60m hurdles—again. After setting a new record the day before, Shekhawat improved it even further, clocking a 7.74 in the finals and 7.76 in the prelims, both faster than his previous mark. In the field events, Suzi Woodall had a strong performance in the pole vault, placing second with a jump of 3.96m (12ft 11.75in).

Reghan Skogen finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.36m (17ft 7in). The Fonoti twins made an impact in the women's weight throw: Dyvhine Fonoti placed second with a throw of 17.29m (56ft 8.75in), while Dyvhon Fonoti was fourth with 16.70m (54ft 9.50in). Dyvhine also finished third in the shot put with a toss of 13.22m (43ft 4.5in).

In the men's shot put, Jason Nwaka saved his best for last, throwing 16.53m (54ft 2.75in) on his final attempt to claim third place. Cort Gebbers finished fifth with a throw of 15.47m (50ft 9.25in). In the triple jump, Azaria Purdy claimed second with a leap of 11.92m (39ft 1.25in), while Rachel Hardy and Zoe Dunn finished seventh and eighth in the women's event.

Kristian Phennicie led the Eagles in the 60m sprints, finishing second with a time of 6.82. Enoch Okoh, went 6.89 to finish fourth. In the women's 200m, Diana Fernandez placed eighth with a time of 25.25, closely followed by Sydney Thweatt in ninth with 25.27.

In distance events, Madi Carr recorded a fifth-place finish in the mile, clocking in at 5:10.99. Max Meadows led the men in the 800m, finishing fourth with a time of 1:56.85. Faith Martinez ran to an eighth-place finish on the women's side with a time of 2:20.10. The men's 4x400m relay team of Gaik, Trefry, Phennicie, and Okoh took third with a time of 3:22.47. On the women's side, the team of Fernandez, Caporali, Slomska, and Thweatt finished fourth with a time of 3:58.41.

"I challenge each individual on the team to ask themselves: do you want to be good or great?" added the coach. "Being good is fine, but greatness requires extra effort. I believe we're headed in the right direction."
