FARMINGTON, Utah — Following a Freshman of the Year campaign in 2024-25,
Kourtney Grossman is starting off the new season as a Preseason All-Conference selection. The Big Sky Conference announced its 2025-26 Preseason All-Conference Team and Grossman was one of six players selected to the team.
Grossman was joined on the team by Sacramento State's Benthe Versteeg, who was named the Big Sky's preseason MVP. The team also included Montana's Mack Konig and Avery Waddington, Montana State's Taylee Chirrick and Idaho's Hope Hassmann.
In her first season as an Eagle, Grossman was named Big Sky Freshman of the Year, along with earning an All-Conference Honorable Mention. Grossman broke the freshman program record with 314 rebounds. She averaged 10.5 rebounds per game to lead the Big Sky.
A true two-way player, Grossman was second on the team with 10.5 points per game. Grossman finished the season with 14 double-doubles, leading all freshmen players in the NCAA. She ranked second in the Big Sky double-doubles and 31st in the nation.
From the floor, Grossman shot 40 percent overall and 30.6 from three-point range. At the free throw line, Grossman shot 80.6 percent. She also ranked third on the team with 42 steals. Grossman played in 30 of the team's 31 games, making 23 starts. Her 29.0 minutes per game ranked third on the team.
When the conference schedule began last season, Grossman elevated her game, averaging 12.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.
Grossman's stand-out season was highlighted by a 18 point, 19 rebound game against Montana State (Jan. 20, 2025).
In mid-December of 2024, Grossman won her first career Player of the Week award after recording 15 points and 17 rebounds in a 54-46 win over UC Santa Barbara.
Grossman looks to lead Eastern back to postseason success in her sophomore season. EWU went 11-20 overall last season and was 7-11 in the Big Sky. They went into the conference tournament as the No. 7 seed, but fell to the No. 8 seed, Sacramento St., in the first round.
The 2025-26 season for the Eagles begins on Oct. 29 with an exhibition game against Whitworth at Reese Court. The regular season officially begins on Nov. 3 against Northwest at home.
