The opening set saw both teams trading points early, tied at 8–8 before the Griz surged ahead with a 14–0 run to take control at 21–8. Despite matching Montana point-for-point after their final timeout, the Eagles dropped the set 11–25.

Eastern opened the second set with energy, jumping out to a 4–2 lead behind strong blocking from Alyssa Radke and Sidney Gray. Montana responded with a 5–0 run to move ahead 12–11 and carried a 15–12 advantage into the media timeout. The Griz maintained momentum the rest of the way, taking the set 25–16.
