CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — What has become a model of high-achieving academic honors for head coach Brenda Howe's squad, Eastern Washington women's golf earned the second-highest GPA in Division I. EWU completed the 2024-25 academic year with a 3.96 cumulative GPA to hold the No. 2 spot.

The Women's Golf Coaches' Association (WGCA) announced today the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA across all divisions of collegiate athletics.

"This is quite an achievement for the team," Howe emphasized. "Day in and day out; each member of our team prioritizes their academics, in addition to the responsibilities asked of them as Division I student-athletes. This recognition validates all the hard work they put in, on and off the course."

Eastern was only surpassed by Ball State University, as the Cardinals finished with a 3.97 GPA.

Earlier this summer, the entire Eagles' roster was selected to the WGCA All-American Scholar team. Kami Twining, Brooke Mahler, Gabriella Ilardi, Spencer Cerenzia, Natalie Kent, Berkley Ledesma and Esha Reddy combined to earn the top-5 GPA mark during the past season. It was the 12th consecutive season that Howe's program has placed student-athletes on the Scholar All-American list.
