FARMINGTON, Utah — With the 2026-27 season right around the corner, the Big Sky Conference has released its preseason coaches' poll. Eastern Washington women's golf was picked to finish 11th in the preseason poll, gaining 22 points.

This past April, EWU placed 10th at the 2025-26 Big Sky Championships. Sophomores Spencer Cerenzia and Esha Reddy both placed 32nd on the individual leaderboard with a score of 230. Lexie Mahler shot 232 to tie for 37th, and Berkley Ledesma tied for 40th with a 234 final score.

Ledesma picked up Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention in her sophomore season. The University Park, Wash. native posted three top-10 finishes and four total in the top-20. At the Bobcat Desert Classic, Ledesma earned her first career top-five finish, placing second. She shot career-best 54 and 36-hole scores. 

Along with Ledesma, head coach Brenda Howe returns four players from last year's roster. The group includes Cerenzia, Mahler, and Reddy. Howe adds two newcomers: Ella Follen from Fircrest, Wash., and Tyla Greenwood from Tucson, Ariz. 

The Eagles begin their season on Sep. 14 at the Wolverine Invitational in Saratoga Springs, Utah, hosted by Utah Valley. 

Eastern hosts the Kalispel Invitational on Sep. 21 through Sep. 22 at the Kalispel Country Club in Spokane.

In total, EWU has 10 competitions this season, including the Big Sky Championships in April (21-23).

Northern Arizona was picked to repeat as conference champions, claiming eight first-place votes. Sacramento State departs the Big Sky, but Southern Utah returns, along with the addition of Utah Tech.
