Eagles Add Defensive Presence in Ayden Hamilton

CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University head men's basketball coach Dan Monson has announced the addition of Ayden Hamilton to the Eagles' roster.

"We are super excited to welcome Ayden Hamilton to our program," said Monson. "He brings a great deal of experience from Etiwanda High School, one of the premier high school programs in Southern California, and Life Pacific University, a distinguished NAIA program. His defensive tenacity and rebounding ability are qualities we're excited to add to our team. More importantly, he is the type of person who will help continue building the culture and mindset we want at EWU."

Hamilton appeared in 28 games at Life Pacific during his freshman season, making 14 starts while averaging 20.2 minutes per game. He shot 47.5 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from the free-throw line. Hamilton recorded five double-digit scoring performances, including a career-high 17 points against Hope International. Defensively, he averaged 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

The Hamilton name may already be familiar to Eagle fans, as Ayden is the younger brother of current Eagle Alton Hamilton IV. Last season, Alton started 20 games for Eastern Washington and averaged 13.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and was named to the Big Sky All-Tournament team.
