Career: Despite spending much of his careerinjured until the last portion of the 2012 season, Bronson has 493rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in his career thusfar.

2013: Listed as a starter at running back onthe preseason depth chart, but will share the load with severalother running backs. He also should again be EWU’sshort-yardage back as he was in 2012. Ranked 41st on the preseasonFCS running back rankings as selected by Josh Buchanan atphilsteele.com. He transferred to Eastern from Washington in 2011,but had originally been recruited by Eastern and visited EWU as ahigh school senior.

2012: En route to earning honorable mentionAll-Big Sky honors, Bronson led the Eagles with 11 rushingtouchdowns. He started Eastern’s last seven games of theseason, rushing for nine TDs and 286 yards in those outings. Herushed 13 times for a career-high 118 yards and a TD against NorthDakota (10/6/12), one of EWU’s two individual 100-yardrushing performances on the season. He rushed 22 times for 76 yardsand a pair of touchdowns against Wagner (12/1/12) in the FCSPlayoffs. He had just three pass receptions all year, but two ofthem were for 16 yards in the 29-19 win over Wagner. He missedEWU’s first two games with a hamstring injury and carriedjust five times in his first two games of theseason.

2011: Bronson made his Eagle debut againstWashington (9/3/11) after playing previously for the Huskies. Herushed five times for five yards, and caught a pass for five yardsagainst his former team. Bronson made the first start of his careerat Montana (9/17/11), finishing with eight yards on seven carriesin his most extensive action of the season. He also started as afullback against Portland State (10/29/11).

Washington: Did not play in 2010, but spent the2009 season as a backup tailback at Washington. He saw action in atotal of seven games as a true freshman, rushing 19 times for 89yards. He carried the ball eight times for 39 yards against Oregon,including a long run of 18. He rushed three times for 31 yards in a42-10 win over No. 19 California and carried the ball four timesfor 16 yards in a 30-0 blanking of Washington State. He originallywas a part of the fall 2008 recruiting class, but delayedenrollment until January 2009 and entered the 2009 season as a truefreshman.

HS: Graduated from Kentwood HS in 2008. Hefinished his high school career with 3,810 rushing yards, and wasaveraging more than 200 yards per game as a senior before sufferingan ankle injury. He still finished his final prep season with 1,450yards rushing. Named by the Seattle Times as a “RedChip” selection as one of the top 22 prospects in the stateof Washington. He was selected as the South Puget SoundLeague’s 4A Co-Offensive Back of the Year and was a firstteam All-SPSL running back. Earned Associated Press 4A All-Statehonorable mention accolades. Bronson was selected to participatefor the West team at the Washington State Football CoachesAssociation’s annual East West All-Star Game. He was also amember of the Seattle Times “Star Times”all-area team and received honorable mention as a “NorthwestNugget” by the Tacoma News Tribune. He was namedAll-West Region by PrepStar and was one of 14 running backs listedon the News-Tribune’s Western 100. He was rated as the No. 11recruit in Washington and the No. 59 running back in the country byScout.com. In addition, he was ranked as the state ofWashington’s No. 13 football recruit and as thenation’s No. 39 running back by Rivals.com, and was rated theNo. 13 recruit in the state by Superprep. As a junior, he ran for1,437 yards and 14 touchdowns, earning first team All-South PugetSound League honors. As a sophomore, he rushed for 1,045 yards over10 games, earning All-SPSL first team accolades. Bronson also ranthe 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and various relays on theKentwood track team. Former Eagle Aaron Boyce also attendedKentwood. Boyce was an All-America wide receiver for Eastern in2007 and finished his career (2006-09) with 222 receptions for3,330 yards and 29 touchdowns to rank second in Eastern history inall three categories. Boyce was a 2005 graduate of Kentwood HighSchool where he played basketball on the same team as former Eagleand current Detroit Piston Rodney Stuckey.

Personal: Sociology major. Born 3/6/90 inSeattle, Wash. Son of Johinnie and Sandra Bronson. His olderbrother, John, was a standout defensive lineman at Kent-Meridianbefore playing college ball at Penn State and in the NFL with theArizona Cardinals (2005-06).
