2013: Was named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. Lettered as a backup at center behindAll-American Ashton Miller. He helped Eastern set Big Sky andschool records with 592 points, 83 touchdowns and 8,002 yards ofoffense in the 2013 season. As a team, EWU led FCS in passingefficiency (school record 182.6), and fourth in total offense(533.5 per game), fourth in passing (349.8), 41st in rushing(183.7) and seventh in scoring (39.5). Eastern’s offensiveline was selected as the FCS Offensive Line of the Week by BeyondSports Network twice during the season. The first time came whenEWU had 625 yards of offense in a 49-46 upset of 25th-ranked OregonState (8/31/13) to open the season. The second time came in a 55-34win at Idaho State (11/2/13) when the Eagles finished with a schoolrecord 743 yards of offense.
2012: He helped EWU rank seventh in the FCS inpassing yards per game (318.9), 14th overall in total offense(442.0) and 17th in scoring (33.7).
2011: Made the first start of his careeragainst South Dakota (9/10/11) at right offensive guard, but waslost for the season with a knee injury suffered the following gameagainst Montana (9/17/11). He was already replacing Ashton Miller,who was lost for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon inEWU’s opener against Washington (9/3/11). Converted defensivelineman Brandon Murphy filled in at that position for the finaleight games of the season.
2010: Redshirted. Was selected as theteam’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year. Was selectedas the team’s offensive scout team player of the weekonce.
HS: Graduated from Skyline HS in 2010. Named bythe Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selectionas one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. Wasselected to the Seattle Times “Star Times”All-Area team as an offensive lineman. He was a first teamAll-KingCo League Crest Division selection as an offensive tackleand a second team choice as a defensive lineman. Butorac helpedSkyline to a 40-2 record as a three-year starter, including a trioof state titles. He protected the blind side of BYU-bound Skylinequarterback Jake Heaps, who passed for 3,936 yards and 41touchdowns. Skyline won the State 4A title with a 45-21 romp pastFerris to finish the season 12-2. Before the 2009 season began, hewas selected on Ron Siegel’s preseason All-State team. As ajunior, he also earned first team All-KingCo League Crest Divisionhonors as an offensive lineman. Skyline also won the 2008 State 4Atitle with a perfect 14-0 record, defeating Issaquah 20-15 in thetitle game. Skyline was 14-0 and won the state title as a starterin his sophomore season as well. He was team captain as a seniorand received the Coach Steve Gervais Award as the most completeplayer on the 2009 Skyline squad. He had a 3.8 grade point averageand received a scholar-athlete award from the National FootballFoundation and College Hall of Fame. His Eagle teammates Evan Day(’10) and Nic Sblendorio (’13), as well as former EagleTyler Washburn (’08), also graduated from Skyline.
