2019 | Junior
Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year… First-Team All-Big Sky defender… Appeared in all 21 games, making 21 starts and logged a total of 1,752 minutes… Scored two goals and had three assists on the season for the Eagles… Scored the equalizing goal against Northern Colorado (9/27/19)… Scored one goal and had one assist against Northern Arizona (10/20/19) to help secure a 2-0 shutout victory.

2020-21 | Senior
Second-Team All-Big Sky forward… Appeared in all 11 matches and started in 10 during her senior year… Logged a total of 731 minutes on the pitch… Took 16 shots, six on goal, for a shots on goal percentage of .375… Scored a total of three goals and three assists during the season… Scored three goals in the last three matches beginning with Idaho (April 4), Montana (April 9 and April 11)… Scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Montana (April 9) to keep the potential playoff berth alive… Collected three assists in three matches beginning with the College of Idaho (Feb. 28), Portland State (March 12) and Portland State (March 14)… Ranked first on the team in points with nine… Ended the season tied for first in the Big Sky in assists, tied for fourth in points and tied for seventh in goals… Named to the Fall Big Sky All-Academic team.

2021 | Senior
Appeared in nine matches and started in three during her final season as an Eagle… Logged a total of 312 minutes on the pitch… Took nine shots, three on goal, for a shots on goal percentage of .333… Scored a total of two goals during the season… Scored one goal against CSU Bakersfield (9/5/21)… Scored one goal at Sacramento State (10/10/21)… Named to the Fall Big Sky All-Academic team.

High School/Club
Matheny is one of two players from this year's signing class to come from Hanford High School, with Kelsee Winston being the other. She was a four-year letter winner for HSH in soccer, and was also a two-year letter winner in track and field.

The forward was a four-year letter winner at HHS, and helped her team to an 18-5 record and a share of the Mid-Columbia Conference regular season title and a fourth-place finish in the state tournament. Matheny was a two-time All-MCC first team selection as a forward, and was a member of the second team as a defender in 2014. She was also a first-team all-area selection as a forward. She is one of three players from this Signing Class to play club ball at Three Rivers SC, and competed for the 2014 US Club National Cup.

Bodnar Bites: Taylor adds an exceptional physical presence to this 2017 class. She is explosive and has the ability to get in behind backlines and can also play in the back four for our program.

Taylor is the daughter of Rodney and Heather Matheny, and she plans to major in Physical Therapy at Eastern Washington.
