Played in 60 sets as a freshman and made six starts before a season-ending injury… Totaled 95 kills on the season with an average of 1.58 per set… Set a career-high 12 kills at Montana State on Oct. 13… Had two matches with double-digit kills… Led the team in kills in two matches and in blocks in two matches… Hit at a career-high .625 clip against Alcorn State with five kills on eight attempts and no errors… Totaled 39 total blocks on the year with one solo… Had a career-high six blocks against Gardner-Webb, Incarnate Word and at Montana State… Had at least one block in 15 matches and over two in nine… Had 24 digs on the year with a career-high four at Northern Colorado.

Prior to Eastern Washington
Sugai comes to Eastern as a four-year letterwinner at Puyallup High School. As a freshman in 2014, she earned South Puget Sound League (SPSL) honorable mention. As a sophomore, she helped the Vikings qualify for the state tournament, earning Second-Team All-SPSL in the process.
 
Her junior season, she earned First-Team All-SPSL and was named All-Area First-Team by the Tacoma News Tribune after leading PHS back to the state tournament and an SPSL South Championship. Sugai also helped her Lake Tapps Volleyball Team earn bids to Nationals for three consecutive seasons.
 
The daughter of Darin and Jeannette Sugai, she plans on majoring in chemistry with the goal of becoming a forensic scientist.
