Appeared in all 30 matches, making 20 starts and appearing in 112 sets… Ranked second on the team in kills with 208 total to average 1.86 per set… Her career-high 13 kills were set twice at North Dakota (Sept. 19) and against Montana (Nov. 8)… Also had double-digit kills on three other occasions… Hit .219 on the year, with 208 kills, 90 errors and 539 total attempts… Swung .545 against Montana (13k-1e-22ta) on Nov. 8… Was also second on the team with 66 total blocks, nine of which were solo, to average .59 per set… Her career-best is six blocks against Southern Utah (Oct. 17)… Also totaled 42 digs, six service aces and three assists… Named to the Fall Big Sky All-Academic team.
High School:
Nicoletta Capizzi was Eastern’s first commitment for the 2019 class. She comes from La Verne, Calif., where she played two seasons of varsity volleyball at Bonita High School. Capizzi earned First-Team All-American honors in both seasons.
After being named the Most Improved Player in 2016-17, she was named the Most Valuable Player for both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
During her senior season, Capizzi helped lead her team to a second-place finish and the second round of the CIF while also helping her Coyote Summer League team take first.
She totaled over 600 kills in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons and earned a high academic scholar award during her senior year. Capizzi plans on majoring in criminology at Eastern Washington.

She’s fantastic and is playing for one of my good friends and he was really excited to introduce me to her. Nicoletta embodies attitude and effort which is something we talk a lot about. I’m really excited to have her size and her athletic ability heading to Eastern.”
