Prior to Eastern Washington
Renata Lopez-Morales comes to Cheney from Guadalajara, Mexico, where she is currently competing for Mexico’s Junior National team. She brings several years of high-level, international experience to the Eagles as she has been a member of the Mexico National U18, U20 and U23 teams and the CONDADEIP team in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Lopez-Morales also competed on the Jalisco State team for six seasons from 2014 to 2019 and the 2015 squad earned a second-place national finish. She helped her team win a gold medal at the National Olympics in 2016 as well as two more gold medals in the Olimpiada Nacional with her Jalisco State team. Another gold medal was awarded with her U23 team and her CONDAPEIP Science Institute team in 2016.

Lopez-Morales also competed at the Las Vegas Classic in 2018 and 2019 with the national team and played with the Jalisco team in the U18 World Championship Grand Prix in 2017. She also helped her team earn a silver medal at the Olimpiada Nacional in 2018 and a bronze medal with her U20 Norcorea team in 2018 and won another bronze for the U18 squad in 2017.

She plans on majoring in international business once she gets to Eastern with hopes of owning her own business and making international trades with other companies.
