Biography

2016: Listed as a backup at right offensive guard on the preseason depth chart. He missed most of spring practice with a concussion.
 
2015: Redshirted.
 
HS: Graduated from Lincoln HS in 2015. As a senior in 2014, PuaPuaga was selected to the Associated Press 3A All-State team as a first team offensive lineman. He was named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. He was picked for the Tacoma News Tribune All-Area first team as an offensive lineman. Was named the 3A Narrows League Offensive Lineman of the Year. Of the 300 dropback passing attempts by the Abes, PuaPuaga gave up just three sacks. He also had more than 50 “pancake” blocks. Lincoln would finish the season with an 11-1 record, losing only to eventual State 3A champion Eastside Catholic in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. His Lincoln teammates Dehonta Hayes (’15) and Jayson Williams (’15) also signed with Eastern. They were coached at Lincoln by Jon Kitna, who was a college teammate of Beau Baldwin’s at Central Washington.
 
Personal: Considering majoring in health and fitness. Born 11/16/97 in Tacoma, Wash. Will turn 19 during Eastern’s bye week. Parents are Benjamin PuaPuanga and Susan Vaovasa-Fa’auaa. Nickname is “Big Pua.” Name is pronounced “pooh-ah-pu-ah-guh.”
