HS: Graduated from Kentwood HS in 2011. As asenior, he was a first-team All-South Puget Sound League NorthDivision selection as both a wide receiver and a defensive lineman.He had 24 catches for 497 yards (20.7 average) and six touchdownsfor the season. Kentwood finished the season 10-1 and rankedfourth in the final State 4A poll, with its lone loss coming toBothell in the first round of the playoffs. Boyce had aseason-high five catches for 68 yards and a touchdown in thatgame.  Against Puyallup, Boyce returned a blocked punt for atouchdown, hauled in a pass for another score and added a sack inKentwood's 35-21 win. Was named Kentwood's team offensiveco-player of the week twice and defensive co-player of the weekthree times in 2010. He finished his senior season as theleading scorer for Kentwood’s basketball team, averaging 15.0points per game to lead the Conquerors to a 17-10 record. Heearned first-team All-SPSL North Division honors and was teamco-captain. Kentwood advanced to the State 4A Tournament, but waseliminated with losses to top-ranked Garfield and unranked Olympia.He was a starter on Kentwood's 2010 State 4A championshipbasketball team, scoring seven points and grabbing eight reboundsin the title game versus Jackson. Eagle newcomer and Washingtontransfer Demitrius Bronson (’08) also attended Kentwood.Boyce also lettered as a sophomore. His brother Aaron Boyce(2006-07-08-09) was an All-America wide receiver for Eastern in2007 and finished his career with 222 receptions for 3,330 yardsand 29 touchdowns to rank second in Eastern history in all threecategories. He was a 2005 graduate of Kentwood High School where heplayed basketball on the same team as former Eagle and currentDetroit Piston Rodney Stuckey.
