Biography

2010: Listed as a reserve at tight end onEWU’s preseason depth chart. Moved from linebacker to tightend in the spring.

2009: He played in Eastern’s first fourgames before suffering a broken clavicle against Sacramento State(9/26/09) that required season-ending surgery. A standout onspecial teams and reserve linebacker, he had a career-high fourtackles against California (9/12/09). He was the team’sspecial teams player of the week against Northern Arizona (9/19/09)-- a week before his season came to a premature end.

2008: Named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. Did not start, but played in seven Eastern gamesand earned a letter. He helped Eastern finish an impressive 11th inFCS in rushing defense (93.5), as well as fifth in sacks (3.09 pergame) and ninth nationally in tackles for loss (7.9 per game).Moved to linebacker from quarterback in the spring.

2007: Played sparingly as a non-lettering squadmember. He was offensive scout team player of the week once.

2006: Redshirted. He earned team offensivescout team player of the week honors once.

HS: Graduated from Skyline HS in 2006. ReceivedState 4A Player of the Year accolades from Associated Press asselected by sportswriters and broadcasters, and won the same honorsfrom the Seattle Times and WashingtonPreps.com. He was thefirst team 4A All-State quarterback by Associated Press,Seattle Times, Tacoma News-Tribune and WashingtonPreps.com.Selected to play in the 4A/3A East-West All-State Game. Named bythe Seattle Times as a “Red Chip” selection asone of the top 29 recruits in the state of Washington. TheSeattle Times selected him to its “Star Times”All-Area first team. In addition, he was also the KingCo 4A LeagueOffensive Player of the Year and the All-KingCo first teamquarterback. He led 4A quarterbacks with 2,960 passing yards whilecompleting 64 percent (182-of-283) with 35 touchdowns and just fiveinterceptions. He also rushed for 785 yards and 18 more scores, andhad 22 tackles as a linebacker. He led Skyline to a 14-0 record,including a 35-21 victory over Woodinville in the State 4Achampionship game. He completed 19-of-24 passes for 281 yards andthree touchdowns, and rushed for 66 yards and a pair of scores. Aweek prior after a semifinal victory over Puyallup, Harris washospitalized with a blood disorder because his platelet count wastoo low. Initially, doctors didn’t expect him to be able toplay in the championship game. Earlier in the playoffs, he passedfor 226 yards and rushed for 91 yards in a victory over 4Apowerhouse Pasco. As a junior, he earned first team All-Statehonors from Associated Press and WashingtonPreps.com as alinebacker, and was the KingCo 4A League Defensive MVP. He was theonly junior selected to the Seattle Times “StarTimes” All-Area Team. He had 125 tackles, including 17 forloss (15 sacks), with three fumble recoveries, two blocked punts,one interception and one defensive touchdown. His Eagle teammatesTyler Washburn (’08), Evan Day (’10) and Jase Butorac(’10) also attended Skyline.
