HS: Graduated from Kamiakin HS in 2012. Atwo-way All-State player, he earned first team 3A All-State honorsas a defensive lineman and honorable mention as an offensivelineman from Associated Press as selected by sportswriters andbroadcasters. He was the Columbia Basin Big Nine League 3AOffensive Lineman of the Year, and was also the league’sDefensive Player of the Year. He was named to the Tri-CityHerald All-Area team as a first team selection as both anoffensive and defensive lineman. He earned first team All-CBBN 3Ahonors as both an offensive and defensive lineman. Hunt wasalso nominated to play in the East-West All-Star game. He had 105total tackles, with 24 1/2 tackles for loss and 6 1/2 sacks as asenior. He also added two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries andthree passes broken up. In addition, he averaged 46.7 yardsper punt on seven punts in 2011. Kamiakin finished 12-1 and won theleague title with a 7-0 mark. The Braves lost 21-0 to eventualchampion Bellevue in the semifinals of the State 3A Playoffs. Huntreceived a WIAA Sportsmanship Award at the semifinal game, and wasa team captain. As a junior, he was a second team All-CBBNselection as a defensive lineman. Kamiakin finished the season 13-1and 7-0 in the league, but lost to Bellevue 38-0 in the State 3Atitle game. Hunt also played for Kamiakin’s basketball team,which finished 23-3 and placed fifth in the State 3A Tournament.One of the team’s victories was against eventual 4A StateTournament champion Davis and Hunt’s new Eastern teammateCooper Kupp. In his junior season, Kamiakin basketball finished21-3 and placed third at the State 3A Tournament. His Eagleteammate Jake Potter (’08) also attended Kamiakin.
