Biography

2010: Listed as a starter at tight end onEWU’s preseason depth chart. In the spring, he was presentedan “Iron Eagle” Award for his off-season academic andathletic achievements.

2009: Named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. He played in all 12 Eastern games, includingthree as a starter in formations with two tight ends. He had twocatches for 12 yards versus Montana State (10/24/09) and had anon-scoring 33-yard reception versus Northern Colorado (9/19/09).He scored on a 5-yard touchdown pass against Stephen F. Austin(11/28/09) in the FCS Playoffs.

2008: Named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. Did not start, but played in all 11 Easterngames. He had a career-high three catches versus both Idaho State(9/27/08) and Northern Colorado (11/8/08).

2007: Named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. Started two games at tight end and made thefirst start of his career in Eastern’s opener againstMontana-Western (8/31/07). He caught one pass in seven differentgames, including a 20-yard touchdown catch versus Montana State(10/13/07) and a 2-yard score versus Appalachian State(12/1/07).

2006: Redshirted.

HS: Graduated from La Crosse-Washtucna HS in2006. His team won four-straight State B-8 championships and was aperfect 48-0 in his four seasons at the school. He earned All-Statehonors three seasons on defense (defensive end and defensive back)and twice as a receiver. In 2005, he was selected as the B-8Defensive Player of the Year by WashingtonPreps.com. He had 91receptions for 2,215 yards and 33 touchdowns in his career. As asenior he had 55 catches for 1,185 yards and 25 total touchdowns(18 receiving, five rushing and two on returns). He also had 12interceptions and 75 tackles in 2005. He was selected as the prepplayer of the week by the Seattle Times when he had eightreceptions for 213 yards and three touchdowns in a 46-0 win overSt. John-Endicott. He also had five interceptions, one he returnedfor a touchdown, and seven tackles in the victory. He was afour-year letter winner in football, basketball and baseball,earning all-conference honors two times in basketball and threetimes in eight-man football. In basketball as a senior, he averaged16.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. He was his school’sco-salutatorian with a 3.91 grade point average in high school.
