Biography

Kirk Earlywine on Hyslop: "Morgan has the ability to shoot the ball well, and he has the added advantage of being 6-foot-7. Shooters with size are a rare commodity. Like most newcomers to Division I, he lacks the physical strength necessary to compete at the Division I level. He will use this season as his redshirt year to gain that physical strength."

Junior College: Played two seasons at Columbia Basin Community College in Pasco, Wash. As a sophomore, he was selected to play in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) All-Star game after averaging 9.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocked shots. He helped Columbia Basin advance to the NWAACC Tournament and finish with a 16-10 record.

High School: Graduated from Ferris High School in 2007. He averaged 2.9 points and 2.6 rebounds as a senior to help the 2006-07 Ferris team finish 29-0 and win the first of two-straight State 4A titles. He was coached at Ferris by Eastern graduate Don Van Lierop, who helped induct Ferris head coach Wayne Gilman posthumously into the Eastern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003.

Personal: Born Oct. 29, 1988, in Spokane, Wash. Intends on majoring in business administration. Parents are Robert Hyslop and Melodee Jones. His name is pronounced "hiss-lup."
