Biography

Hayford on Kelly: “We anticipate thatParker will have an outstanding senior season with consistency inshooting and rebounding. He is a great team captain.”

Career: Kelly is just 29 games away from theschool record for career games played (121 set by Jeffrey Forbesfrom 2010-13), having started 46 of the 92 games he has played thusfar. He is 10th in school history in 3-point percentage (39.6percent), sixth in attempts (366) and fifth in 3-pointers made(145). He is only 39 3-pointers away from the school record of 184,but junior Tyler Harvey is right behind Kelly with 132 treys in hiscareer. Kelly’s 85.0 percent shooting from the free throwline in his career would rank as the school record (the record is84.9) if he had enough attempts to qualify (he has 160 and needs184). Kelly has scored in double figures 33 times in his career,and has led EWU in scoring in six games, assists nine times andsteals on 12 occasions.

2014:15: For the second-straight season, he willserve as one of the team’s co-captains in the 2014-15 season(along with Venky Jois and Tyler Harvey).

2013-14:
He served as one of the team’s co-captainsin the 2013-14 season.  In addition to being EWU’s topdefender, he averaged 9.7 points and 34.5 minutes per game. Astarter in EWU’s first 20 games of the season, he came offthe bench in three-straight games before starting again in an 85-72win versus Sacramento State (2/13/14). He responded with agame-high 18 points, including 15 in the first half on 6-of-10shooting in helping EWU open a 21-point lead. He then had 12 pointson 4-of-6 shooting from the 3-point stripe in EWU’s 84-65 winover Northern Arizona (2/15/14).

2012-13:
Was one of a school-record nine Eagles to beselected to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. Kellyaveraged 13.6 points in his last eight games, including a newcareer high with 28 points in EWU’s 87-73 win at Idaho State(3/7/13). Kelly had 22 of his points in the second half and made acareer-high six 3-pointers. His previous scoring high was 19 inEWU’s come-from-behind 77-74 overtime win over NorthernArizona (2/9/13). Versus NAU, Kelly’s 3-pointer with 15seconds left in regulation and a subsequent defensive stop by theEagles helped send the game into overtime tied at 66. He ended theseason with a 20-point effort against Weber State (3/8/14), and onegame earlier equaled his career high with seven rebounds versusIdaho State (3/6/14).

2011-12:
Kelly came off the bench in 30 of the 31 gameshe played, and made the first start of his career at Idaho State(2/23/12). He received significant minutes late in the year as hecontinued to adjust to the college game. Kelly averaged 8.3 pointsper game in EWU’s last 10 games, including two with 17 andone in which he hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 14 seconds toplay.

High School: Graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 2011,helping his school accumulate a 73-11 overall record and 45-5league mark in three seasons. He helped lead the Bullpups to the2011 State 4A Championship, as they were 23-3 after finishing theGreater Spokane League season with a 14-2 record. Kelly scored 24points in the title game and earned second-team All-StateTournament honors. Selected to play in the All-State Game, Kellyaveraged more than 18 points per game as a senior en route toearning first-team All-Greater Spokane League honors.

Personal:
Born Sept. 27, 1992, in Spokane, Wash.Marketing management major. He is the son of Terry and Cyndi Kelly.His father had his No. 44 basketball jersey retired by GonzagaPrep, as he averaged 26.2 points per game his senior year in 1976to lead the Spokane City League in scoring. He went on toWashington State University where he started 80 straight games atone stretch and led the Cougars to the 1980 NCAA tournament.
