Jamie Loera joined the Eastern Washington staff for the 2024-25 season after a storied playing career at Arizona State, and then here at Eastern Washington. In Loera's first season as a coach, she focused on player development and mechanics, working closely with the guards.
While playing at Arizona State, Jamie was on the 2019 roster that made the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament, and also qualified for the 2021 NIT Tournament. Jamie then transferred to Eastern Washington starting in the 2022-2023 season, and immediately excelled with the Eagles. She was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year, was named to the Big Sky All-Conference Third Team, and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Jamie continued her excellence into the 2023-2024 season, as she helped lead the Eagles to their first NCAA Tournament Appearance since 1987. Along the way, Jamie picked up more accolades, including being named the unanimous Big Sky Player of the Year, and First Team All-Conference. She repeated as Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year, and was named to the All-Defensive Team. Jamie also earned Big Sky Tournament MVP, and was once again named to the All-Tournament Team.
Jamie ranks 9th All-Time in Total Assists in School Program History (339) and 4th All-Time in Steals in a single season (83).
Jamie has since graduated with her Masters in Organizational Leadership, and continues to bring excellence to Eastern Basketball, this time as a coach.
