Biography

Head Coach Wendy Schuller: "Jessica is a juniorcollege transfer coming off of an achilles injury. At this point weare easing her back into basketball more than anything. It mighttake her until January to get back into sync and play at the paceand speed that she needs to play. She's an extremely tough playerplays hard and is relentless. She shoots it well and she can playinside a little bit -- she is an undersized post but rebounds anddefends well."

Junior College: Thielen played one season atNorth Idaho College in Coeur' d'Alene, Idaho, but missed the2008-09 season with an injury. The year before, she was the onlyfreshman in the league to be named first team All-Scenic WestAthletic Conference. She ranked in the top 15 in the SWAC in sixdifferent categories, including eighth in scoring (10.9 ppg), 12thin rebounding (5.4 pg), and 11th in field goal percentage (38).

High School: Graduated from Mount BakerSecondary School in 2006. She averaged 15 points, seven rebounds,and six assists per game as a senior. Thielen was named the topfemale athlete at her high school.

Personal: Born 3/19/88 in Cranbrook, B.C.Daughter of Brian and Daralyn Thielen. Has two brothers, Mitchell,29, and Chase, 23, and one sister, Brett, 27. Intends on majoringin biology
