Prior to Eastern Washington
Tarryn Hart is a Washington product that spent two seasons at Yakima Valley Community College before coming to Cheney. She hails from Wapato, Wash., where she attended Wapato High School.
 
At Yakima Valley, Hart averaged 14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game as a sophomore. She helped YVCC finish fourth in the NWAC East Standings with an 11-5 record, clinching a playoff spot, and finishing 21-8 overall.
 
At the high school level, she earned four letters in basketball and one in track and field. She earned a CWAC All-League honorable mention nod as a senior and was named to the 2A All-Tournament First team as a junior. In 2016, she earned honorable mention All-State honors from the Associated Press. She was named First Team All-CWAC as a sophomore after earning an honorable mention nod as a freshman.
 
She led the Wapato Wolves to a 2017 CWAC league and district championships as the team went on to finish fourth in state.
