Saw time in 69 total sets and 22 matches, making three starts, in her first season as an Eagle… Averaged .87 kills per set with a career-best 15 against Milwaukee (Sept. 6)… Earned back-to-back double-doubles against Cal Baptist on Aug. 31 (13k-13d) and against Milwaukee on Sept. 6 (15k-18d)… The 18 digs is also a career-high… Totaled 86 digs on the season and averaged 1.26 per set… Had five total blocks, four service aces and dished two assists… Hit at a season-best .387 clip against Cal Baptist… Named to the Fall Big Sky All-Academic team.
Prior to Eastern Washington
A hometown product, Alisha Straw joins the Eagles after a three-year stint at Spokane Community College. During the 2018 campaign, Straw was instrumental in guiding the Sasquatch to an unblemished 40-0 record en route to an NWAC Championship.
After medically redshirting her first season for the Sasquatch, Straw appeared in 56 matches and 155 total sets during her two full seasons on the court. She garnered 348 kills (2.25/set) and swung at a .208 clip as an outside hitter. She also averaged 2.66 digs per set with 413 total, in addition to 30 total blocks and 57 aces.
As a sophomore, Straw compiled 234 kills, doubling the amount she totaled as a freshman (114) and averaged 3.00 per set. She improved from a .176 hitting percentage (114k-47e-380ta) as a freshman to .226 as a sophomore (234k-83e-669ta). She also served up an impressive 43 service aces and averaged 2.99 digs per set (233 total) in addition to two double-doubles. Her season-high of 14 kills and 16 digs came in a 3-1 win against Walla Walla on Sept. 20, 2018.
