Prior to Eastern Washington:
Ana Paula Zandona hails from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and played two seasons at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. During the 2018 season, Zandona helped the Cardinals earn a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA DI Volleyball Championships and solidify a 28-7 overall record.
The 6-2 setter appeared in 62 matches for the Cardinals where she totaled 1,976 assists in two seasons, good for 9.23 per set. Defensively, Zandona garnered 346 digs (1.62/set) and 74 total blocks, 29 of which were solo.
She was also a threat offensively during her tenure as she hit at a .256 clip, collecting 118 kills on 324 attempts with only 35 attack errors. Zandona was also steady at the line as she served up 35 aces.
Her best season came during her sophomore year where she dished out 1,128 assists to lead the team and averaged 9.32 per set. Additionally, she totaled 61 kills and hit at a .224 clip. She was third on the team with 199 digs (1.64/set) while serving up 15 aces and totaling 45 total blocks with four double-doubles.

She’s not only going to bring size and depth, but she is a Brazilian volleyball player which means she’s going to bring attitude and swag. I’m really excited for how fast she can run the offense.”
