Grayson DuBose

Grayson DuBose was hired in May of 2022 as Associate Head Coach by Head Coach Jon Haruguchi. Recently, DuBose was the head volleyball coach for Utah State from 2006 to 2019, the longest tenured coach in program history.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Coach Haruguchi and the Eagles' Volleyball program," DuBose said. "We have known each other for several and I have admired not just his volleyball knowledge, but who he is as a person. I am looking forward to being in the gym and getting to work with our staff and these young ladies.  Go Eagles!"

2023
In DuBose's second season as Associate Head coach, the Eagles went 6-10 in the Big Sky and 13-17 overall, earning the No. 7 seed in the Big Sky Championships. DuBose continued to develop the middle blockers and led the team to 2.45 blocks per set, finishing second in the Big Sky. Under DuBose's coaching, Bri Gunderson was named to the All-Big Sky second team as a middle blocker, who averaged 1.19 blocks per set (29 solo, 102 assists), ranking third in the Big Sky. The team had 270 total blocks, with 78 total and 384 assists.

2022
Eastern Washington went 11-18 and 6-10 in the Big Sky during DuBose first season as Associate Head coach, earning the No. 7 seed in th Big Sky Championships. Dubose worked with Eastern's middle blockers and led the team to average 1.95 blocks per set. The team had 214 total blocks, with 20 solo and 348 assists. The team was led by Renata Lopez Morales, who averaged 0.94 blocks per set (10 solo, 86 assists). Alyssa Radke was second on the team with 0.77 blocks per set, recording 85 total (11 solo, 74 assists). Radke earned All-Big Sky second team honors for the season. 

Prior to Eastern Washington
During his time in Logan, Utah, DuBose won 187 games to rank second in the program's history. He also coached 25 all-conference selections and was named WAC Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2012. In addition, DuBose coached 115 academic all-conference selections.

Before taking over at Utah State, DuBose spent four seasons at BYU as an assistant for the men's volleyball team, helping the Cougars to the 2004 national title. DuBose started his coaching career as an assistant at Utah State from 1999 to 2001. He also had a stop at New Mexico from 2001 to 2002.

DuBose graduated from BYU with a degree in history and earned his teaching certificate from Utah State. He and his wife, Lenonnie, have three children, Kline, Cassandra and Jackson.

Haruguchi on DuBose: "I am so excited to have Grayson joining us here at Eastern.  He brings a wealth of knowledge with regards to coaching, recruiting and overall program management that I know will be a huge asset for myself and the team. Grayson and I built a great relationship over the past several years and I respect what he has brought to our sport on the men's and women's side. The team and I are very excited for Grayson to get in the gym and help us reach new heights."
