Head Coach Jon Haruguchi announced the addition of Kim Zorn to the sidelines of the EWU volleyball program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022 season. She has been around the Spokane area and the sport of volleyball for many years, coaching at all levels, high school, juniors and college.

Zorn spent seventeen seasons as the head coach of various high school programs in both the Seattle and Spokane areas. She managed all aspects of each of those programs and led a handful of those schools to state championship matches. She also assisted athletes in reaching their goal of playing collegiate volleyball at the various levels (DI, DII, DIII, NAIA & Jr. college). Kim’s juniors coaching experience dates to 1996 where she has worked with the 12-18 age groups, leading a handful of teams to earn bids to GJNC with elite finishes. Kim continues to coach collegiate summer camps at Stanford and Saint Mary’s College of California, along with other local camps and clinics.

As an assistant coach of her alma mater, Whitworth University, '97 Kim helped lead the Pirates to a NCAA III national tournament appearance along with multiple athletes receiving AVCA academic honors.

As a player, she had success at both Lewis-Clark State College and Whitworth University helping lead her teams to top finishes while also earning honors in the classroom. Kim continued her career with a short stint in both Germany and Australia before returning to the States to teach and coach. She received her bachelor’s degree in sports medicine, physical education and health studies.

Kim and her husband, Darrell are the parents of one daughter, Madi.
