CHENEY, Wash -- Eastern Washington University Women's Golf head coach Brenda Howe announced on Nov. 16 that Alexa Clark from Richland, Wash. signed a National Letter of Intent for the 2017-18 golf season.
Clark will be coming from Kamiakin High School before starting her career as an Eagle. In her sophomore and junior year, she placed third in the WIAA 3A State Championship. She also has a total of eight victories on the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour in 2015 and 2016.
"I'm excited to have Alexa join the team next fall," Howe said. "She's one of the top golfers in the state of Washington and I look for her to have an immediate impact on the team. Not only has she built an impressive high school golf resume, she has a tremendous amount of experience and success in the Washington Junior Golf Association as well as the Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour."
In 2016, Clark had a scoring average of 76.33 in the Washington Junior Golf Association's competitions, which included winning the District 3 Championship with scores of 74 in the first round and 71 in the second.
The Eastern golf team will begin its 2017 spring season on March 6 at the Battle in Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nevada.
