FULL RESULTS

The Eastern Washington University track and field teams completed a successful turnout at the University of Washington Invitational today (Jan. 27).

"Today's meet showed that we are ready in many ways for the upcoming indoor championships," men's head coach Stan Kerr said. "However, we still need to be more effective and efficient in a couple of areas in competition. It is a joy to see the progress we have made and exciting to know our best performances lie in the near future."

"The meet gave our youngsters an opportunity to see and compete against some national and world class competition," women's head coach Marcia Mecklenburg said. "It may be eye opening for many of them, but they have experienced it now. Next time they will be even more ready to compete."

Comments from men's head coach Stan Kerr . . .
On Keshun McGee: "Keshun stole the show again with his powerful performances in the triple and long jumps."

On distance performance: "Our men's distance medley relay put together a great race, which we though they were ready to do. It was great to see them deliver a race like this against very talented opponents.

Comments from women's head coach Marcia Mecklenburg . . .
On distance performance: "The distance athletes usually run well at UW and they did it again this year. Carli Corpus led them and she keeps improving each week. It is exciting to see what she is going to accomplish from one week to to next."

On individuals: "Alexis Rolan was impressive for a freshman at her first UW meet. Little Samantha Raines is vaulting big and leading the vault crew. After having to sit out last year with an ankle injury, she has stepped it up and is vaulting with renewed confidence this year."

What's Next
