CHENEY, Wash. – As the 2018-19 season winds down, the Eastern Washington University volleyball team is preparing to head out on its second-to-last road trip of the year. The Eagles take on Sacramento State on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. followed by a matchup at Portland state on Nov. 3 at 2 p.m.

GET TO KNOW THE EAGLES: Eastern Washington is 8-16 overall and 0-12 in Big Sky Conference play. The Eagles are coming off two losses against Weber State (3-0) and Idaho State (3-0) last week at home.
As a team, the Eagles are swinging at a .152 clip and are averaging 10.8 kills per set. EWU also averages 15.9 digs per set which is third in the conference, 1.9 blocks per set and 10.0 assists per set.
Kamille Langford leads Eastern with 2.16 kills per set. The sophomore has 160 kills on the year and is hitting at a .168 clip. Freshman
Kennedy Kaminsky also averages over two kills per set with 150 on the season while hitting .183. Langford (.85/set) and Kaminsky (.74/set) also lead Eastern in blocks per set.
Defensively,
Puaoolelagi Sao paces Eastern with 3.99 digs per set, followed by
Catelyn Linke who averages 3.12.
Samantha Boever runs Eastern's offense with 8.12 assists per set. Linke leads the team with 25 service aces followed by
MaKenna Davis who has 21.
LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles capped off their longest home stand of the season when they hosted Weber State and Idaho State on back-to-back nights last week.
In the 3-0 (13-25, 17-25, 19-25) loss to Weber State,
Kamille Langford led the way with a career-high 13 kills while hitting 200.
Catelyn Linke led EWU in both blocks (three) and digs (15).
Eastern was also swept by Idaho State (14-25, 17-25, 16-25) on Oct. 26. Langford led the team for the second-straight night with eight kills, followed by Linke and
Kennedy Kaminsky who each had five.
GET TO KNOW THE HORNETS: Sacramento State is 14-12 overall and is tied for second in the Big Sky with a 9-3 record. The Hornets are on a one-match win streak, as they were swept by Northern Arizona but bounced back and swept Southern Utah on Oct. 27.

th across Division I with 10.27 assists per set. Defensively, Lana Brown averages 1.19 blocks per set while Paige Swinney leads the team with 376 digs.
SERIES HISTORY: Eastern trails the all-time series, 17-35, as Thursday night marks the 53
rd all-time meeting. Eastern is also just 5-22 in Sacramento and have lost the last four matchups to the Hornets. The two teams last met on Oct. 6 in Cheney where Eastern lost 3-0.
GET TO KNOW PORTLAND STATE: The Vikings are 4-20 overall and are ninth in the conference with a 3-9 record. Portland State swept Southern Utah last week before falling in straight sets at Northern Arizona.
PSU averages 11.0 kills per set while hitting at a .164 clip. They also average 1.8 blocks per set, 10.3 assists and 15.0 digs per set.
The Vikings have six players that average over two kills per set. Katy Wilson leads the way with a .264 hitting percentage while average 2.17 kills per set. Maddy Reeb leads PSU with 7.55 assists per set and has 21 service aces on the year.
Defensively, Jenna Mullen averages 2.08 digs per set while Wilson averages .97 blocks per set.
SERIES HISTORY: Eastern narrowly trails the all-time series, 27-28. The Eagles have dropped the last three meetings, including a close five-set loss back on Oct. 4 in Cheney. In Portland, the Eagles are 10-15.
UP NEXT: The Eagles return home for two of the final three remaining home matches as they take on Montana State and Montana on back-to-back evenings. EWU plays host to the Bobcats on Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. followed by a matchup with the Griz on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. Admission to all regular season home matches are complimentary to the public.
