CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University head volleyball coach
Leslie Flores-Cloud has announced the addition of three new Eagles on the first day of the national signing period (Nov. 13).
Sage Brustad (West Richland, Wash. / Richland HS), Ellie Garrett (Windsor, Colo. / Windsor HS) and Noa Torio (Mililani, Hawai'i / Mililani HS) will join the Eagles at the start of the 2020 season as true freshmen.
"Our 2020 class will add competitiveness to our current roster," said Flores-Cloud. "I am so excited to have these incredible ladies join the Eagles."

Ellie Garrett | Windsor, Colo. | Windsor HS | 5-10 | Setter
Ellie Garrett joins the Eagles from Windsor, Colo., where she played varsity volleyball all four years of high school and earned four letters.
After earning a Tri-Valley League All-Conference Honorable Mention nod as a freshman, Garrett was named to the CHSAA/MaxPreps All-State Second Team as a sophomore. She was also named the Tri-Valley League Athlete of the Year in the 2017-18 following her sophomore season. Academically, she earned the Les Schawb Tire Centers Academic Team Championship award her sophomore year as well.
As a junior, she earned a CHSAA/MaxPreps All-State Honorable Mention nod and made the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships All-Tournament Team.
Garrett also qualified for the Northern Lights National, the 4A State Tournament, the adidas Windy City Qualifier, the 5A State Tournament and a first-place finish at the Colorado Crossroads in 2019.

FLORES-CLOUD ON GARETT: "We're really excited to have Ellie join the Eagle volleyball program. She is an amazing setter with a positive court presence, good work ethic and great location. It will be amazing to see the competitiveness she brings to our nest."

Noa Torio | Mililani, Hawaii | Mililani HS | 5-2 | Libero
Noa Torio comes to Cheney from Mililani, Hawai'i where she earned two letters in volleyball. In 2014, she earned a bronze medal at the USA Junior National Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., before earning a silver medal in 2016.
Torio led her team to an OIA Division I Championships as a junior and placed third in the HHSAA Tournament her junior season as well. As a senior, she led her squad to another OIA Division I Championship and placed fourth in the HHSAA tournament.
PERSONAL: Plans on majoring in creative writing or visual communications at Eastern Washington with aspirations of working at Walt Disney or Pixar Studios.
FLORES-CLOUD ON TORIO: "Noa is going to add depth to our defense. She rocked at camps this summer and fits in our culture well. We are very excited to have her digging for us next fall."

Sage Brustad | Richland, Wash. | Richland HS | 6-1 | Outside Hitter
Sage Brustad is a local product from Richland, Wash., where she attended Richland High School.
As a junior, Brustad appeared in 75 sets and compiled 225 kills, good for 3.0 per set. Additionally, she only had 71 errors on 541 attempts to hit .285 on the season. She also totaled 26 aces, 29 total blocks and 100 digs.
FLORES-CLOUD ON BRUSTAD: "Sage is someone to be reckoned with. She comes from a volleyball family and has been playing for quite some time. She will add to our depth on the pins and also has a great touch on the ball, so we look forward to having her serve-receiving for us."
