NORTHERN ARIZONA GAME NOTES

CHENEY, Wash. –
Riding the momentum of Saturday's win over Portland State, the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team heads out on its second-to-last regular season road trip of the year this week. The Eagles take on Sacramento State on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:05 p.m. before playing at Northern Arizona on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. Pacific time.
 
EWU will look avenge losses to the Hornets and Lumberjacks earlier this month, as both contests were dropped by less than 10 points in Cheney.

LAST TIME OUT: Eastern Washington snapped a 12-game losing streak with a 79-75 victory over visiting Portland State on Saturday (Feb. 15). Despite being down by 10 points in the first quarter, the Eagles led for 23:54 of the contest. Eastern Washington closed the first half on an 11-0 run and led by five at the half. The run spanned in to the third quarter, totaling 15 unanswered points by the Eagles. The Vikings cut the lead to just three points with 25 seconds left, but EWU hung on for the victory – which also snapped a five-game losing streak to PSU.
 
Four Eagles scored in double figures, led by Jenna Dick's 19 points. Jessica McDowell-White (17 points, 13 assists) and Bella Cravens (18 points, 15 rebounds) each picked up double-doubles while Grace Kirscher rounded out the scoring with 16 points. The Eagles shot 51.9 percent from the field with 12 three-pointers in the win, while also out-rebounding the Vikings 36-to-24.
 
A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Eastern Washington currently sits at 3-20 overall and 2-12 in Big Sky Conference play with six regular season games remaining.
 
Jenna Dick leads the team with 10.3 points per game, and has emerged as quite the three-pointer shooter as a freshman. Dick has made 56 three-pointers this year, a mark that ranks 78th nationally and is the most-ever scored by a freshman in EWU history. She also ranks seventh in all of Division I in three-point field goal percentage, knocking down 45.5 percent of her shots from deep to also lead the conference.
 
Grace Kirscher is close behind with 10.0 points per game while Kennedy Dickie adds 9.0.
 
Bella Cravens has scored in double figures in four-straight games, earning double-doubles in two of those contests. She ranks in the top-five in the Big Sky in both rebounds (8.2) and blocks (1.81) per game. Cravens is currently three blocks away from cracking Eastern's all-time top-10 list for career blocks.
 
Jessica McDowell-White runs the point and is fresh-off a 13-assist performance against Portland State, which is fifth all-time in EWU single game history. She dishes 5.5 per game, which ranks 16th in Division I and leads the conference. Her 121 total assists are also a conference-leading mark, ranking 40th in the nation.
 
As a team, the Eagles average 56.4 points and 34.6 rebounds per game, but are a major threat behind the three-point line. They make 8.1 triples per contest, good for 31st in the nation. They make 34 percent of their attempts from deep, which is 69th.
 
A LOOK AT THE HORNETS: Sacramento State sits one spot above the Eagles in the conference standings with an overall record of 8-16 and 6-9 in conference play. Last week, the Hornets beat Southern Utah on the road by a score of 71-62 before falling at Northern Colorado, 90-73.
 
The Hornets are also a threat behind the arc, ranking 14th in the country with 8.6 three-pointers a game. They attempt 31.4, which is fourth. Sacramento State averages 71.0 points per game.
 
Five Hornets average double figures, led by Kennedy Nicholas with 14.2 points per game. The Eagles held Sacramento State's leading scorer to just nine points back on Feb. 1. Camariah King (12.6), Gabi Bade (10.7), Summer Menke (10.7) and Tiana Johnson (10.6) follow.
 
SERIES HISTORY: Eastern Washington leads the all-time series over Sacramento State, 35-18. The Eagles have won six out of the last 10, but fell to the Hornets back on Feb. 1 by a score of 74-67.
 
In the loss, freshman Jenna Dick played all 40 minutes and exploded for a career-high 28 points, the most by an Eagle this season. She also made eight three pointers, which is second all-time in program history for three-pointers in a single game. Eastern Washington led by as many as 19 during the contest, but the Hornets closed the fourth on a 14-2 run to take the win.
 
At Sacramento State, the Eagles are 17-8 all-time. They have won eight out of the last 10, including four-straight.
 
A LOOK AT THE LUMBERJACKS: Northern Arizona is third in the conference standings with a 15-8 overall record and a 10-4 mark in Big Sky action. The Lumberjacks split two games on the road last week, defeating Northern Colorado 71-60 and falling to Southern Utah, 82-64.
 
Khiarica Rasheed ranks second in the conference and leads the Lumberjacks with 16.1 points per game. Jacey Bailey ranks fourth with 14.0 and Nina Radford is also in the top-ten with 13.0 per game. Rasheed leads the conference in field goal percentage, draining 50.9 percent of her shots.
 
Northern Arizona averages 74.0 points per game, making 42.4 percent of their shot attempts.
 
SERIES HISTORY: Eastern Washington leads the all-time series over Northern Arizona, 40-27. The Eagles had won five-straight over the Lumberjacks until Feb. 3 of this season when NAU beat EWU by a score of 70-62 in Cheney.
 
Kennedy Dickie earned her first career double-double in the loss, with a team-high 16 points and 14 rebounds.
 
At NAU, the Eagles are just 13-18 all-time, but have won six out of the last 10, including two-straight.
 
UP NEXT: Eastern Washington's final homestand of the 2019-20 season takes place next week. After hosting Southern Utah on Feb. 27, the Eagles will honor lone senior Leya DePriest for Senior Day against Northern Colorado on Feb. 29 at 12:05 p.m.
