SOUTHERN UTAH GAME NOTES

NORTHERN COLORADO GAME NOTES

CHENEY, Wash. –
The final two home games for the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team have arrived. The Eagles play host to the Thunderbirds on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:05 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 29, Eastern will recognize lone senior Leya DePriest prior to a 12:05 p.m. tip-off against Northern Colorado.

HOW TO WATCH: Both games will be streamed for free on Pluto TV Ch. 534 and WatchBigSky.com. Live stats are available on EWUStats.com. Additionally, live, in-game updates and video highlights can be found by following @EWUWBB on Twitter.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Eastern Washington has won two out of its last three games, with the lone loss coming in a 63-58 decision against second-place Northern Arizona on the road. The Eagles are 4-21 overall and 3-13 in Big Sky play heading into the final home stand of the year.

Last week, the Eagles erased a 19-point deficit on the road at Sacramento State to pick up a 78-73 victory. On Saturday, EWU was down 16-points entering the fourth quarter when Bella Cravens exploded for 18 of her career-high 28 points, including a 10-0 run, to cut the deficit down to five points, but the comeback fell short.

Cravens also pulled down 10 rebounds in the contest at NAU for her fifth double-double of the season. The sophomore has scored in double figures in six-straight games, averaging 17.3 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 2.0 apg and 1.8 bpg during that stretch with three double-doubles.

Cravens currently averages 9.9 points per game to rank third on the team and is also second in the conference with 8.2 rebounds per game. She ranks 59th in the nation with 1.74 blocks per game and has already collected 40 on the season. Cravens garnered 49 swats as a freshman to bring her currently total to 89, just one-shy of 10th all-time in EWU history for career blocks as a sophomore.

Freshman Jenna Dick leads the Eagles with 10.2 points per game. She is ninth nationally in three-point field goal percentage, knocking down 45.5 percent of her attempts from deep. She's totaled a team high 61 three-pointers, which is the most ever scored by a freshman in Eastern Washington history.

Grace Kirscher follows closely with 10.0 points per game.

Jessica McDowell-White manages Eastern's offense with 5.4 assists per game – the 19th most in all of Division I and a conference leading mark. She is also first in the conference with 129 assists, needing 14 more to crack the EWU top-10 for assists in a single season.

The Eagles average 57.32 points and 34.5 rebounds per game, but their strength comes from behind the three-point line. Eastern Washington ranks 33rd in the nation with 8.0 made three-pointers per game, 53rd in total three-pointers with 200, 65th in three-point attempts with 595 and 76th in three-point field goal percentage with 33.6.

A LOOK AT THE THUNDERBIRDS: Southern Utah is still fighting for a first-round bye at the 2019-20 Big Sky Conference Tournament. They are currently tied for fifth in the standings with Montana with a conference record of 9-7 and an overall record of 15-10. The Thunderbirds have won three-straight, including five out of their last six games.

Rebecca Cardenas leads SUU and the Big Sky with 17.4 points per game. Harley Hansen averages 13.2 to rank seventh, while Shalyn Fano rounds out the double-digit scorers with 10.2 points per game. Cardenas also leads the conference with 3.0 steals per game.

The Thunderbirds rank 57th in the nation with 71.4 points per game, making 40.8 percent of their attempts.

SERIES HISTORY: Eastern Washington owns the 12-9 edge all-time over Southern Utah, including seven out of the last 10. At Reese Court, the Eagles are 7-4 against the Thunderbirds and have won two-straight.

EWU traveled to Cedar City to face the Thunderbirds on Jan. 25 of this season, falling 71-50. Bella Cravens paced the Eagles with 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the loss. The Eagles out-rebounded the Thunderbirds, but were held to an uncharacteristic three three-pointers.

A LOOK AT THE BEARS: Northern Colorado is 11-14 overall with a 4-7 mark in Big Sky action to rank seventh in the conference. They enter the week on a two-game losing streak, falling to both Southern Utah and Idaho State last week.

The Bears have two players who average double figures in Alexis Chapman (12.6 ppg) and Alisha Davis (11.2 ppg). Davis is 33rd in the nation with 2.12 blocks per game, good for 53 on the year. She helps the Bears rank 24th nationally with 4.8 blocks per contest.

As a team, they rank 39th in the nation with 41.0 rebounds per game while adding 60.5 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY: Eastern Washington trails the all-time series with the Bears, 16-11. Before a 63-42 loss at Northern Colorado back on Jan. 27, the Eagles had won two-straight over the Bears, including the semifinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament.

The Eagles shot the ball with just 25.9 percent accuracy in January's loss, with Jessica McDowell-White leading the team with 11 points.

At Reese Court, EWU is an even 6-6 with UNC, losing one-straight.

UP NEXT: The Eagles head out on their final road trip of the 2019-20 season to begin the month of March. Eastern plays at Idaho State on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. Pacific time. EWU closes the regular season at Weber State on Friday, March 6 where they'll go for the season sweep of the Wildcats at 6 p.m. PT.

From there, Eastern Washington will head straight to Boise, Idaho for the 2019-20 Big Sky Conference Championships. The tournament runs from March 9-13 at CenturyLink Arena. For more information on the championships, click HERE.
