CHENEY, Wash, - The Eastern Washington University women's soccer team kicks off Big Sky Conference play hosting two matches against Portland State on March 12 and March 14, both at 12 p.m. Pacific time at the EWU Soccer Field in Cheney, Wash. The Eagles head into conference play sitting 1-2 overall with a one match win streak.

LAST TIME OUT: Eastern is returning after a dominating performance against the College of Idaho which saw five different Eagles score in a 5-0 shutout victory back in the end of February. The Eagles hosted the Yotes at Roos Field and found early success gaining a two-goal lead by the 11
th minute from goals by redshirt junior
Brittany Delridge and freshman
Grace Terrill.
Delridge created the momentum that EWU would feed from for the remainder of the match after slotting the ball in the back of the net in the third minute from an assist by
McKaley Goffard. Eight minutes later Terrill slipped the ball into the net to give the Eagles the two-goal advantage.
The Eagles found a third goal before halftime from sophomore
Riley Walkington who dribbled through a few defenders and found the bottom right corner to make it 3-0 in EWU's favor.
The Eagles started the second half with the same energy as the first, scoring a fourth goal in the 47
th minute from Goffard.
Brooke Flores collected the fifth goal in the 75th minute and the Eagles closed the match with a 5-0 shutout over the College of Idaho.
Both Goffard and Flores collected a goal and an assist in the match as the Eagles cannoned 24 total shots, landing 12 on target from nine different players. Goffard was awarded the offensive player of the week nod and goalkeeper
Kelsee Winston, who picked up her 15
th career shutout, earned defensive player of the week.
KNOWING YOUR OPPONENT: Portland State has yet to compete in a match this season, but last season PSU finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-15-0 and a Big Sky Conference record of 3-6-0.
PSU is coached by Katie Burton who is in her fourth season at the helm.
Eastern has an all-time series record of 11-12-2 against PSU and have won five-straight matches over the Vikings. Head coach
Chad Bodnar has an overall record of 6-1-1 against Portland State and is also unbeaten in their last seven matches versus the Vikings with a record of 6-0-1 since 2014.
The Eagles last met with Portland State at the Big Sky Conference quarterfinals last season where Eastern shutout PSU 3-0 and advanced to the conference semifinals with one goal from senior
Sariah Keister and two goals from sophomore
Maddie Morgan.
