CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University golf team gets ready to begin another tournament on Sept. 27-28 as they head to the Battle at Old Works hosted by Montana State in Anaconda, Mont., at the Old Works Golf Club. The Eagles are returning from their first tournament invite and look to improve upon their performance after placing eighth last week.
"This will be a fun tournament. With only the four northern Big Sky Conference schools competing, it will have more of a dual type of atmosphere. I'm looking forward to seeing how the ladies respond after this week," said head coach
Brenda Howe. "I think we were a little timid being the first event of the year. Hopefully they will be a little more settled in next week and back to the competitive spirit that I know they have."
The Battle at Old Works will consist of two rounds of 18 on the first day beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Pacific time, followed by a third round on the second day. All teams competing in the tournament reside in the Big Sky Conference with Idaho State, Montana and Montana State as the other programs.
The second day of the tournament shotgun starts at 8 a.m. PT and consists of 18 holes. Fans can follow the

The Eagles look to continue their long success at the Battle at Old Works after their first-place finish in 2018 and second-place finish in 2019, both of which EWU collected the first-place individual finish. The lineup for this week's battle includes
Meghan Singh,
Kami Twining,
Jaelin Ishikawa,
Morgan Baum and
Carisa Padilla, with
Stephanie Chelack competing as an individual.
Following the Battle at Old Works, the Eagles prepare for Griz Match Play hosted by Montana on Oct. 5-6 in Missoula, Mont.
