Eagles host Grizzlies and Bobcats in back to back games

Eastern looks to get to .500 in conference

Eastern Washington is back at Reese Court this week for two games on back-to-back nights. Eastern opens against Montana on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. The Eagles then face Montana State on Friday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m.

Last Time Out
Eastern Washington was on the road for its last two games, falling to Northern Arizona, 2-3 (25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 21, 25, 9-15), and Northern Colorado, 0-3 (19-25, 16-25, 9-25).

Against NAU, Alyssa Radke led the Eagles with 24 total kills. Radke also got herself three blocks in the game as well. Sadie Bacon collected 13 kills on the night with one ace. Renata Lopez Morales was right behind Bacon with nine kills, as she got nine digs as well. Lindsey Russell recorded 45 assists and led Eastern with two aces.

Against UNC, Radke was right back on top for the Eagles with seven kills. Lopez Morales and Sage Brustad tied with six kills apiece. Ka'ehukaiiha'amaina'e Keala and Bacon each had an ace on the night.

Scouting the Eagles
The Eagles have a conference record of 3-5 with an overall record of 8-12. Eastern is on a two-game losing streak as they get ready to host its next two games. Eastern Washington currently sits in seventh place in the Big Sky.

For the Eagles offense, Sage Brustad is in second place in the Big Sky conference for points with 322.5 and averages 4.24 points a set. Brustad also is in third place for service aces and kills as she averages 0.41 aces per set and 3.62 kills per set.

Lindsey Russell ranks sixth in the Big Sky for assists averaging 9.52 per set. In the 75 sets that Russell has played, she has collected 52.0 points and 18 kills.

On the defense, Makenna Collins leads Eastern with a total of 252 digs and averaging 3.32 per set. Brustad isn't too far behind with 164 digs and averages 2.16 per set.

Alyssa Radke leads Eastern in many categories across the board. In her 76 sets, Radke has generated 249.5 points for herself, averaging 3.28 a set. Along with that, she averages 2.88 kills per set and has a total of 219 kills.

Scouting the Grizzlies 
On the season for the Grizzlies, they have brought their conference record to 5-4 with an overall record of 12-9. Montana is coming off of a win against Idaho State 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-21). The Grizzlies currently sit in fifth place in the Big Sky.

Paige Clark leads Montana in kills (277), averaging 3.79 per set. She also leads in points (326), averaging 4.47 per set. Clark has also collected herself 85 digs averaging 1.16 per set. Sarina Moreno leads her team in digs (313) and averages 4.49 per set.

Eastern Washington has a 40-44 overall record against Montana, going 26-15 against the Grizzlies at Reese Court. Eastern dropped its last game against Montana, 0-3, in November of 2021.
 
Scouting the Bobcats
Montana State will be on the road for its next two games as they stop in Idaho before playing Eastern. The Bobcats overall record for the season is 8-13 with a Big Sky record of 4-5.

In their last match against Weber State, they fell to the Wildcats 1-3. Leading the game for Montana State, Jordan Radick collected 15 kills, Kira Thompson with 13 and Jourdain Klein with nine. Audrey Hofer led in assists (43), while getting herself an ace as well.

On the season, Emma Pence leads her team with a total of 206.5 points while averaging 2.87 per set. Pence has collected 154 kills and averages 2.14 per set.

Eastern holds a 53-27 advantage in the season series against Montana State, with a 32-8 mark at Reese Court. The Eagles played the Bobcats a month ago in Bozeman, falling 0-3. Alyssa Radke led the team with 15 kills and Lindsey Russell recorded a double-double, getting 29 assists and 10 digs. 

Parking
Due to the Eastern Washington's football game on Saturday(Oct. 29), all Eagle fans who are attending Friday night's volleyball game will need to park in lots P16 or P3. Vehicles in any other lots will be towed after 6 p.m. on Friday. Fans can also park on the street after 5 p.m.

After the Eagles host Montana and Montana State, they will be on the road to face off against Idaho State and Weber State. The first game, in Pocatello, will be on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time. The second game, in Ogden, will be on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
