Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Eagles fall to Northern Arizona 0-2

Eastern's unbeaten streak comes to an end

After the Eagles match against Northern Arizona, their record stands at 5-6-4, 2-1-1 in the Big Sky. NAU brought its record to 3-5-4, 2-1-0 in the Big Sky.

The Eagles struggled to maintain possession against the Lumberjacks. In the 11th minute of play, Grace Terrill had a great scoring opportunity, as she broke away from the Lumberjacks defense but was blocked last minute. Gillian Martin led Eastern in shots tonight with a total of five and three on goal. Alongside Martin, Terrill had a total of three shots and Chloe Pattison added two shots, with two on goal. NAU was very active with scoring opportunities. Kamryn Willoughby had her work cut out for her all night but battled and only allowed two goals.

For the Lumberjacks, they maintained possession of the ball for 60% of the match. NAU was the first to put up shots within minutes of the match starting, as Josie Novak put up a shot in the fifth minute. It was not until the 37th minute of play when the Lumberjacks scored their first goal. Allison Veloz made a cross just as Maddie Shafer was tracking the ball behind Willoughby, putting the ball in the back of the net. Shortly after, in the 41st minute, Eastern had an own goal as the ball was deflected into the net. Northern Arizona kept its 2-0 lead into the second half.
