Upcoming this week, Eastern Washington Track and Field will make its return to The Podium in Spokane, Wash., for the Washington State Open (Feb. 2- Feb. 4) after competing at the Inland NW Invitational last Saturday (Jan. 28). The WSU meet will be hosted by Washington State.
Spread out in three days, the meet will kick off on Thursday for the men's and heptathlon and women's pentathlon. The men will start at 12:00 p.m. with the women at 12:30 p.m. The following day, Friday, will finish the men's heptathlon (11:00 a.m.), field events (2:00 p.m.) and running events (3:00 p.m.). The field events will include the high jump, weight throw and long jump while the running events will be the 800-meters, 200-meters, 5,000-meters and the DMR.
Wrapping up the meet on Saturday, the Eagles will get an early start of the day at 11:00 a.m. for both the field and running events.
At the Inland NW Invitational, EWU ended the meet with eight top finishers and 46 placing in their respective events.
Madelyn Knight, who won the women's 60m hurdles, with a personal best time of 8.73 seconds for the third-place spot on the programs top 10 60m hurdles list.
Hally Ruff, who placed first for the women in pole vault (12-11 3/4), and
Zach Klobutcher who won the men's pole vault (16-09 1/4). In the 4x400 relay, the Eagles earned the top spot for both the men's (3:24.21) and women's teams (3:56.09). In weight throw,
Bradley Fillis won the event with a 58-06 toss for Eastern.

After the Washington State Open, EWU will make their way to the Husky Classic on Friday (Feb. 10) in Seattle, Wash.
