Volleyball signs three to ‘24 class

Carlisle, Gonder and Moran will begin their careers at EWU next fall

CHENEY, Wash. — The pieces for the future of Eastern Washington volleyball are in place as three new Eagles are set to join the program for the 2024 season. Head coach Jon Haruguchi announced the signing of Bria Carlisle, Tennille Gonder and Quincy Moran.

Bria Carlisle | Middle Blocker | Phoenix, Ariz.
Bria comes to EWU after playing four years at Boulder Creek High in Phoenix, Ariz and five years at AZ Revolution Volleyball Academy in Phoenix, Ariz. 

At Boulder Creek, Bria was named to the 6A Desert Valley First Team All-Region her junior and senior years, 6A Desert Valley Second Team All-Region her sophomore year, and was named Boulder Creek's volleyball MVP two years in a row. She earned All-Tournament Team honors in the White Tanks Invitational her senior year, and Longhorn Invitational and Greenway Invitational All-Tournament Team honors her junior year.


During the 2023 season with Revolution 17 Premier, Bria competed in the 17s USA Division at Nationals, earning All-Tournament team honors and helping her team take third place. With Bria's help, Revolution also placed third at the Arizona Regional championship and national qualifier. In 2021 and 2022 her Revolution teams placed third in the 15s and 16s American Division at Nationals.

In her high school career, Bria amassed 694 kills, a .371 attack percentage and 172 blocks to date. She earned a 4.67 cumulative GPA during her time at Boulder Creek. Bria plans on majoring in Physical Therapy at Eastern, along with pursuing a career in coaching.

"We are beyond excited to have Bria joining our program. Bria is a physical competitor with a strong work ethic and a big arm. Her ability to be an offensive threat from any position along the net will be a huge piece of what we are trying to build here."

Tennille Gonder | Outside Hitter Hitter | Delta, Utah
Tennille arrives in Cheney after playing for Delta High. While at Delta, Tennille has led the state of Utah in skills with 678 during the 2023 season.That same season, Delta won the Las Vegas Classic and Salt Lake Showdown tournaments with Tennille leading the effort. Delta also placed second at the Lone Star Classic tournament. She earned Mid-Utah Radio offensive Player of the Year for the 2022 season. In the 2021 season, Tennille helped guide Delta to win the Nationals in the American tournament. 

For her career, Tennille averages 6.0 kills per set, with a .338 hitting percentage. She also carries a 3.2 digs per set average. Tennille excelled in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and earning Academic All-State in 2023. At Eastern, Tennille intends to pursue a degree in Psychology.

She is a dedicated student athlete who brings a passion for learning. It was clear from the beginning that Tennille personified the character we want in our program and we are so excited she chose Eastern Washington."

Quincy Moran | Outside HItter | Bothell, Wash.
Quincy begins her career at Eastern after playing for North Creek High in Bothell, Wash. During her latest season, Quincy was named KingCo All-League MVP, adding the Coaches and captains Award. In 2022, Quincy was a first team All-KingCo selection, while earning second team honors in 2021. She added a coaches award in 2021 as well. With Quincy's help, North Creek won the KingCo and District Championships in 2022. Quincy was also key in her club team's win at the Kansas City Triple Crown NIT during the 2022 season. 

In her three years at North Creek, Quincy earned Outstanding Scholastic Achievement (2021-23). Quincy intends to major in Sports Marketing at EWU with aspirations to be the Head of Marketing for a professional team.

"We saw Quincy compete at a local tournament and immediately knew we wanted to have her join our Eagle family.  The more we got to know her, the more we knew she was the right person for our team.  Quincy is an intelligent player who brings an ability to score in a variety of ways and we can't wait for her to get here."
