CHENEY, Wash. — The future Eastern Washington women's golf came into focus today as the team signed four players for the 2024 class. Head coach
Brenda Howe announced the signing of Spencer Cerenzia, Natalie Kent, Berkley Ledesma and Esha Reddy.
Spencer Cerenzia
Spencer joins the Eagles from right up the road in Spokane, where she attends West Valley High School. Heading into her senior year, Spencer has already racked up the accomplishments. She helped West Valley place second at the WIAA 2A State championship, finishing seventh on the individual leaderboard after shooting 82 and 76. At the Banner Bank Invitational, Spencer placed second with a 78 and 76 in the tournament. She also was second at the Notah Begay III (78, 76) and the Joel Dahmen 36 hole Invitational (81, 74). Spencer placed 11th at the WJGA Players Open, shooting rounds of 74 and 76. During her junior year, Spencer had a stroke average of 81. Along with earning four letters in golf, Spencer earned three letters in volleyball. Spencer is a three-time first team, All-Greater Spokane League (2021-23),
Additionally, Spencer was accomplished in the classroom, earning Scholar Athlete honors. While at EWU, Spencer intends to major in Education with aspirations of becoming a teacher.
Natalie King
Natalie will start her collegiate career at EWU by way of Newport Beach, Calif. She competed for Tesoro High in Las Flores, Calif., earning four letters in golf. Over a three-year stretch (2021-23), Natalie was a first team All-Star. Natalie qualified for the CIF sectional in all four seasons at Tesoro. For the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Natalie was named Tesoro Lady Titan of the Year. Natalie was a key contributor to the Tesoro team that won the CIF league championship in 2021 and 2023. On the national level, Natalie was a USGA Girls first alternate in 2023. At the FCG International, Natalie placed in the top 25 percent of participants with a 227 total score.
Natalie intends to pursue a degree in business marketing while at Eastern.
Berkley Ledesma
Berkley comes to Eastern from University Place, Wash., playing at Curtis Senior High. She earned four letters in golf at Curtis Senior. In her junior and senior seasons, Berkley was named to the SPSL first team All-League, while earning second team spots in her freshman and sophomore seasons. Berkley is also a three-time Tacoma Athletic Commission Athlete of the Year nominee. In her time at Curtis, she helped the team win the WJGA District Championship and placed second in the State competition. Curtis also placed second at the 4A WCD in 2023. Berkley is a two-time RMJGT winner and was named Player of the Year for RMJGT in 2022. Overall, Berkley average score as a senior was 74, improving from a 79 average as a junior.
Berkley maintained focus on her academics, serving as a National Honor Society officer. At EWU, Berkley wants to major in Business and hopes to work with her dad, Jason, as a financial advisor.
Esha Reddy
Esha is a native of Eugene, Ore. where she played at Marist High. During her four years at Maris, Esha earned All-State honors in three of those seasons (2021-23). In the 2021 season, Esha helped Marist win the 4A State Championship, placing fifth individually. They followed up in 2022 with a second-place finish, with Esha finishing fourth. Esha earned her second-straight fourth-place finish in 2023 and the team placed third. Along with performing on the course, Esha embraced the leadership role, serving as team captain all four years. At the 4A Districts in 2023, Esha won the tournament, placing fourth at the FCG MNW Invitational at OSU and fifth at the Central Oregon Major. Esha earned another win in 2022 at the FCG National Tour.
In the classroom, Esha earned honors in science, math, english and spanish. Esha intends to major in Biology at EWU and hopes to pursue a career as a dentist.
