CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington University wide receiver Efton Chism III picked up his third All-America honor on Tuesday as he was named to the 2023 Stats Perform FCS All-America Third Team, presented by FedEx Ground.

Chism ranked among the conference and national leaders in just about every receiving category, ranking second (Big Sky) and third (FCS) in receptions per game (7.6). He piled up a career-best 84 catches for 934 yards and 8 TDs, capped by a 3-TD performance against Northern Arizona in the season finale. He climbed to 3rd on EWU's all-time career receptions list with 226, moved into 12th in all-time receiving yards with 2,541 and currently ranks 2nd in receptions per game with 5.51, behind only Cooper Kupp.

A junior out of Monroe, Wash., Chism was also named to the AP and FCS Central Third Teams this year, and he earned Hero Sports Freshman All-America honors in 2021. Tuesday's announcement marks the overall 370th All-American award earned in program history (181 first team).

Chism is the most recent in a long, storied list of Eastern receivers to earn All-America recognition, most recently Talolo Limu-Jones, who took home a second- and third-team honor in 2021. Among the many other star wideouts to wear the red and white, Kupp (2013-16) earned the 2016 Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in the FCS.
