CHENEY, Wash. — The regular season is just over a month away and Eastern Washington University football is ready to return to Cheney. Fall camp practices will officially start on Thursday, August 3 in preparation for the Eagles' regular season opener against North Dakota State in Minneapolis on Sept. 2.
 
Eastern rookies report on Aug. 1 and veterans on Aug. 2 before the first of 21 camp practice sessions get underway on Aug. 3. The majority of fall camp will take place on EWU Sports and Recreation practice fields with select sessions and scrimmages on the red turf at Roos Field.
The Eagles will practice daily from Aug. 3-26 with off days on Wednesdays. Most practices begin at 9:15 a.m. and run approximately two hours. Practice on Friday, Aug. 25 will be at 1:30 p.m.
Camp includes two full pad scrimmages, currently slated for: 
	- Saturday, Aug. 19 (1 p.m.)
- Saturday, Aug. 26 (1:30 p.m.).
Time and location of all practices and scrimmages are tentative and subject to change.
EWU returns over 40 letterwinners from a year ago, including seven starters on offense and five on defense. The Big Sky Conference Football Kickoff event will take place this weekend (July 22-24) at Northern Quest Resort and Casino just outside Spokane, Wash., including the Big Sky Hall of Fame dinner — at which the conference will honor former Eagles Michael Roos (football) and Kim Exner (volleyball) — and 2023 football media days.
Fall Camp Media Availabilities (updated Aug. 8)
Media availabilities during fall camp will be on the field immediately following practice on the following dates (approximate times listed). These are for working media only. Please confirm practice times and location prior to departure for campus and contact the Athletics Communications staff with additional inquiries.
	- Thursday, August 3 (11:15 a.m.) — Sports & Recreation practice fields
- Thursday, August 10 (11:15 a.m.) — Roos Field
- Saturday, August 19 (1:45 p.m.)*  — Roos Field
- Saturday, August 26 (2:15 p.m.)* — Roos Field

Weekly media availabilities will resume their normal early afternoon Tuesday pre-practice cadence in the EWU Student-Athlete Academic Center starting on Tuesday, August 29.
