Cornhuskers run past Eagles

Eastern Washington dropped its first home game of the season

CHENEY, Wash. — The 2023 home opener was a tall task for Eastern Washington women's soccer as they hosted Nebraska on Thursday night. The Cornhuskers showed their poise and defeated the Eagles, 6-0. Eastern's record now sits at 0-3-0 and Nebraska improves to 2-0-1.

Despite the score, Kamryn Willoughby played hard in net, making 15 saves against the Cornhusker offense.

The first goal for Nebraska came in the 22nd minute and they added another in the 32nd. At halftime, Eastern trailed 2–0 and were out-shot, 20-3 in the first 45.

The Cornhuskers would score four goals in the second half, starting at the 53rd minute mark with their first strike.
