Eastern Washington University wide receiver Efton Chism III picked up yet another national award earlier this week as he was named to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team. He was one of 52 student-athletes selected.

With Chism's selection, Eastern has earned 26 total Academic All-Star honors by 22 different Eagles since the award began in 1998. Teammate P Nick Kokich was selected last year and head coach Aaron Best earned Academic All-Star honors in 1999. Chism is also the second Eagle, joining TE Jake Withnell in 2015, to be named a finalist for the FCS ADA Postgraduate Scholarship.

Chism ranked among the conference and national leaders in just about every receiving category, ranking second (Big Sky) and third (FCS) in receptions per game (7.6). He piled up a career-best 84 catches for 934 yards and 8 TDs, capped by a 3-TD performance against Northern Arizona in the season finale. He climbed to 3rd on EWU's all-time career receptions list with 226, moved into 12th in all-time receiving yards with 2,541 and currently ranks 2nd in receptions per game with 5.51, behind only Cooper Kupp.

A junior out of Monroe, Wash., Chism earned several All-American honors this season, including AP and FCS Central Third Teams.
