Eastern finishes Trailblazer Invite

Eastern Washington competed in Utah for the past three days

WASHINGTON, Utah — Eastern Washington women's golf completed its first competition of the 2024 spring season at the Zupas Trailblazer Invitational, hosted by Utah Tech. The three-day event was held at the Green Spring Golf Course in Washington, Utah. Eastern finished in eighth with a total team score of 964.

Gabriella Ilardi continued her strong freshman season, shooting 234 (+18) and tying for 19th on the individual leaderboard. Illardi closed the competition strong with a 75 today, moving up 10 spots on the leaderboard. 

Sophomore Brooke Mahler tied for 25th with a 236 (+20), shooting 76 in round two and 78 in round three. 

Senior Morgan Baum competed as an individual, shooting 73 to close out the Invite and taking ninth with a 226 total score (+10). Baum shot 78 in round one and 75 in round two. 

Utah Valley won the event with a 903 score. Gonzaga's Chawon Baek won the individual title, shooting 219 (+3). 

Up Next
Eastern is off until Feb. 27 when they travel to Phoenix, Ariz. to play in the GCU Invitational, hosted by Grand Canyon. The competition runs through Feb. 28.
