CHENEY, Wash. — The calendar has changed to 2025 and Eastern Washington football is already preparing for the regular season in the fall. Eastern announced its full 12-game schedule today, with five home games at Roos Field.
The 2025 home opener will be a non-conference matchup against Western Illinois. The Saturday, Sep. 20 matchup will also be Welcome Weekend as the academic school year kicks off that following week.
Eastern's '25 season begins with three road games, starting with Incarnate Word in San Antonio on Aug. 30. The Eagles then travel to face Boise State (Sep. 6) and Northern Iowa (Sep. 13)
The Big Sky schedule begins on Sep. 27 against the 2024 national runner-up Montana State in Bozeman. In last season's matchup between the two teams, the Eagles tied the Bobcats in the third quarter and went into the fourth trailing by a touchdown. Montana St. prevailed in the game, 42-28, to remain undefeated.
EWU's home conference opener is a week later against Portland State (Oct. 4) which will be the Eagles 2025 homecoming game
The home Big Sky opponents for the Eagles include Idaho (Oct. 18), Sacramento State (Nov. 1) for Native American Heritage Month Kickoff, and Northern Colorado (Nov. 15.) for Hometown Heroes & Senior Day.
In the 2024 season, the Eagles upended No. 18/20 Sacramento State, 35-28, in Sacramento. EWU won a
decisive 43-15 victory against Northern Colorado in Greeley last year as well.
Eastern has road games against Weber State (Oct. 25), Montana (Nov. 8), and the regular season finale against Cal Poly (Nov. 22).
