CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington went on the road and put together a strong attacking performance, but a late surge from Idaho handed the Eagles a tough 3–2 loss in a high-energy conference battle. Idaho struck first in the 11th minute, but EWU continued to apply pressure throughout the match, outshooting the Vandals 14–10 and putting 10 shots on frame.
The breakthrough finally came in the 72nd minute when
Kendall Moore buried a finish to level the score, giving the Eagles momentum. Just seven minutes later,
Audrey Schlotfeldt capitalized on another opportunity, firing home to give Eastern a 2–1 lead and stun the home crowd. However, Idaho responded with two quick goals in the 83rd and 85th minutes to retake control. Despite the setback, EWU continued to battle, generating three corner kicks and forcing five saves from the Vandal goalkeeper.
Chloe Pattison and Moore led the Eagles with four shots each, consistently challenging Idaho's back line.
Kamryn Willoughby made three saves while organizing a resilient defensive unit that held strong for most of the match.
