SPOKANE, Wash. — Eastern track and field athletes were split over the weekend between the Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington, and the 4th Annual Whitworth Invite at The Podium, powered by STCU.

"It is Conference Time," said Director of Track and Field / Cross Country Erin Tucker. "We are ready to get to Flagstaff and have some fun!

What a weekend. Last weekend we had a ton of folks jump into the Top-10 list and we had a bunch of PR's, we tried to replicate that again this weekend and we were pretty close. Hats off to the women Milers at Seattle all four ladies are on the top-10 list with nice PRs. This has to be a great confidence booster for them and job well done by Coach Sam Read.

Coach Jo is cooking in the jumps as usual and that entire group is primed and ready to do big things at Big Sky!  I am going to start calling Nic Cunningham PR-Nic because that is what he does week in and week out!

The last two weekends have been great for the Throws, Coach Maj had that group dropping Atomic Bombs and gaining amazing confidence going into Big Sky. I love to see it and hats off to Jason for yet another SP and WT PR! Next meet Big Sky and we are going to be ready to rock and roll!"

The Eagles made impressive strides ahead of the Big Sky Conference Championships in two weeks. Shekhawat continued his strong performance, breaking his own 60m hurdles record for the eighth time this season, claiming first place with a time of 7.68 seconds on day one of the Husky Classic.

"I feel the sprinters are all ready to pop something big, Maddy is on the PR train and he's got more in the tank. I am confident the rest of the group is feeling some FOMO and are ready to join the party!"
