CHENEY, Wash. – Head Coach
Jon Haruguchi announced on Thursday, March 13, that Assistant Coach
Taylor Muff has been promoted to the position of top assistant coach. Muff is entering her fourth season with the Eagles.
"I am thrilled to elevate Taylor to our top assistant role," said Haruguchi. "She has consistently proven herself to be a talented coach, mentor, and valuable asset to our program. It's been incredible to witness her growth from a gifted athlete to an outstanding coach, and I'm excited to see where her journey takes her next."
Muff has been responsible for the development of the team's pins and serve receive, in addition to serving as the Eagles' recruiting coordinator.
"Jon allowing me to step into a new roll has really been a blessing and truthfully has answered a lot of prayers," said Muff. "I'm extremely humbled by the trust and belief he's put into me to take on this role and I'm excited to play another part in pushing this program forward!"
In the most recent season, Muff played a key role in helping the Eagles achieve a 12-15 overall record and an 8-8 mark in conference play. She coached freshman
Quincy Moran, who was named Big Sky Freshman of the Year, marking the first time an Eagles player received the honor since 2005. Additionally,
Kalista Lukovich led the team in kills and earned a spot on the Big Sky Second Team.
During the previous season, the Eagles finished 13-17 overall and 6-10 in conference play. Muff continued to develop the outside hitters, contributing to Sage Brustad earning All-Big Sky Second Team honors. Brustad ranked fourth in the Big Sky for kills per set.
In her first season, the Eagles posted an 11-18 record overall and a 6-10 mark in conference play. Muff focused primarily on developing the outside hitters, helping Sage Brustad and
Alyssa Radke secure All-Big Sky Second Team honors. Brustad ranked seventh in the Big Sky for kills per set, while Radke ranked ninth.
