Eagles picked 8th in preseason poll

FARMINGTON, Utah —  The golf season is getting closer and the Big Sky Conference has released its 2025-26 preseason coaches' poll. Eastern Washington women's golf was picked to finish eighth in the poll, earning 27 points. 

Last season, EWU placed ninth at the 2025 Big Sky Championships. Then freshman Spencer Cerenzia made the highlight of the championships, getting a hole-in-one on the ninth hole, par three.  

Cerenzia is one of five returning Eagles for head coach Brenda Howe. The additional returning Eagles include senior Brooke Mahler, along with sophomores Natalie Kent, Berkley Ledesma and Esha Reddy

Adding to the squad, Howe brings in Lexie Mahler from Buckley, Wash. and Mia Cho from Carmichael, Calif. 

The 2025-26 season will be Howe's 17th leading the Eagles. 

Sacramento State was again picked to win the conference, looking to four-peat as conference champions. The Hornets made it three-straight titles in April shooting at the Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz. 

Eastern's fall schedule begins on Sep. 15 at The Yellowstone Intercollegiate in Bozeman, Mont. The two-day tournament is at the Riverside Country Club.

The Eagles have four total tournaments in the fall of 2025, then six for the spring of 2026. 

In April, EWU heads back to the Wigwam Golf Course for the 2026 Big Sky Championships. Eastern Will compete in the conference championships from April 20th through the 22nd.
