Women’s Basketball releases full schedule

The Eagles begin the season on November 3

CHENEY, Wash. — The 2025-26 schedule is set for Eastern Washington women's basketball with the full slate of games released today. EWU plays 31 games in the upcoming season, with 14 matchups at Reese Court.

Eastern warms up for the '25-'26 season with a scrimmage against Whitworth on Oct. 29 at home. 

The regular season officially begins on Nov. 3 against Northwest University in Cheney. EWU plays 13 total non-conference games, hosting five.

The Eagles renew the cross-town rivalry against Gonzaga on Nov. 23 in Spokane. 

To begin December, Eastern represents the conference in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge, playing Denver at home on the 3rd. They travel to Vermillion, S.D. to face South Dakota on Dec. 6. 

The following week, the Eagles drive down to Pullman to meet Washington State on Dec. 14.

The non-conference slate also includes home games against Southern Utah (Nov. 13), Cal Poly (Nov. 17) and Bushnell (Dec. 29). 

On the road, EWU travels to take on Arizona State (Nov. 8), Nevada (Nov. 28), Portland (Nov. 30), Santa Barbara (Dec. 18) and Cal State Bakersfield (Dec. 20).

Big Sky competition begins on Jan. 3, with Eastern playing host to Idaho to bring in the new year. 

During the conference schedule, EWU hosts nine games and plays nine on the road. 

Eastern then gets on the road for the Montana road trip against Montana State (Jan. 8) and Montana (Jan. 10). Back to Reese Court the next week, EWU plays Weber State (Jan. 15) and Idaho State (Jan. 17).

Following two games at home, the Eagles play their next three on the road against Portland State (Jan. 22), Sacramento State (Jan. 24) and Northern Arizona (Jan. 29). 

Eastern then enjoys three games at home against Northern Colorado (Jan. 31), along with its second matchups against Montana (Feb. 5) and Montana State (Feb. 7). Second matchups continue on the road against the Bengals (Feb. 12) and the Wildcats (Feb. 14).

EWU returns home for round two games against the Hornets (Feb. 19) and Vikings (Feb. 21). They get back on the road to face the Bears (Feb. 26).

The Eagles celebrate senior day on Feb. 28 against Northern Arizona. They close out the regular season on March 2 against Idaho in Moscow. 

Moving to the postseason, the 2026 Big Sky Tournament takes place from March 7 through the 11 in Boise, Idaho. 

Head coach Joddie Gleason, starting her fifth year leading the team, has a deep group of returners with nine total, including 2025 Big Sky Freshman of the Year and All-Conference Honorable Mention, Kourtney Grossman. The now-sophomore set the program freshman record with 314 rebounds in the 2024-25 season. Gleason also has two additional starters returning in senior Ella Gallatin and sophomore Jaecy Eggers.

In the offseason, the Eagles signed seven newcomers with four freshmen and three transfers. The freshmen included Elyn Bowers, Madeline Gibbs, Dylyn Dress and Emma Myers. Transferring in is Autumn Agnew (Salt Lake CC), Caitie Gingras (Cal State Bakersfield) and Brielle Magnuson (Walla Walla JC). 

Eastern Washington finished 7-11 in the Big Sky and 11-20 overall.
